So I might have mentioned that I am a big smoothie fan.
Particularly after a tough workout when I just wanna face-plant into ALL the food.
In general, I keep it fairly simple – protein, berries and banana with a few extras e.g. spirulina, coconut oil, leafy greens.
But in the spirit of trying a new recipe each week (thank you Spring Bucket List), I am upping my smoothie game with some new ingredients.
And, at the moment, I am all about the thyme & honey.
I know what you are thinking… herbs in a smoothie???
Hella yes. It is amazing.
Like peanut butter & chocolate, strawberry & pepper, pineapple and cayenne.
The savoury and sweet combo is a game-changer.
I kept the rest of the ingredients pretty basic. I am in major money saving mode atm, with New York and Thailand in just a few weeks *mini excited dance*, new fancy ingredients have taken a backseat to spending moolah.
Although I wish I could say the same about clothes shopping. I am having a teeny issue with that this month. Oops.
But, I think we can all agree that new clothes are a necessity, particularly when summer is coming, you have two trips coming up and you have NOTHING
new to wear.
Fingers crossed the man sees the logic in that too.
Anyway, back to the smoothie. You will need:
- 1 cup of milk (your choice – I have used raw dairy and coconut, both work great)
- 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (no watery smoothies allowed here)
- 1 tbps raw honey
- 25g unflavoured whey protein powder
- Leaves from a few sprigs of fresh thyme
- Frozen banana
- Coconut oil
- Big handful of spinach
Throw into a blender and whizz until smooth.
That is my kinda cooking.
Right I am off to hide my credit card and plan more travel fun.
