To all you peeps sitting on the couch today! (You know who you are)
It is time to get up and TAKE ACTION.
Whatever you want isn’t going to happen, unless you work for it.
Becoming is not a passive process
I get it; I have been there. I find procrastination a super comfy place to be. There have been occasions where I have literally wallowed in inactivity, or killed time with meaningless tasks to avoid the ones with true purpose. So this post is as much a shout-out to me as it is to you.
There is only one cure:
Get your ass moving
Why do we put off doing things which will get us closer to where we want to be?
Because it’s easy; it’s comfortable to browse the net and look at clothes you want to wear when you get the body you want, rather than actually heading to the gym to develop said body.
Now is the time – stand up and take steps towards achieving your goals. Have faith that you can handle anything and then prove it to yourself.
Love the process
Achieving a goal is the final step in a long journey.
Before an author hits the #1 on the best-sellers list, they had to learn how to write. They then face about 50 million other steps before they get the success they are aiming for.
It’s the same for anything.
There is no such thing as an overnight success, only overnight recognition.
Success only comes to those who work for it, so learn to enjoy in the steps along the way; it is the path to achieving your goals.
Don’t fear failure
Relish in the challenge and persevere in the face of failure.
Use the (inevitable) bumps-in-the-road as a platform to learn and progress. Take every falter, backtrack and misstep as a lesson which will get you closer to what works.
You will make mistakes, but the only way to fail is to give up.
Long-term goals are likely to be vast and suitably difficult to get.
Set small goals that are stepping stones to where you want to be and celebrate when you reach them. Take time to enjoy the progress you have made and use the victory as further motivation to push on.
Hit mini victory after mini victory and, before you know it, you will get to where you want to be.
You just need to believe you will get there, and know that you have to work for it.
