Happy Hump Day!
Since getting back from Santorini (A.K.A land of sunshine, quad-biking, exploring, relaxing and epic food) every day has felt like hump day! I am definitely suffering from the post-holiday blues.
Naturally, a new chocolate recipe is needed.
If you too are eager for the weekend, then this will perk up your mid-week slump pronto.
Did I mention it involves chocolate?
With a spicy maple pecan kick?
Yes, it does taste as good as it sounds.
And you probably have all the ingredients in your kitchen right now.
The perfect mid week pick-me-up! I am currently enjoying with a cup of tea.
- 1 tbps maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 a cup of pecans (other nuts will work if no pecans available)
- 400g dark chocolate
Removed from the oven and leave to cool. While the pecans are cooling, gently melt your chocolate in a bowl over boiling water.
Pop the baking tray in the fridge until the chocolate is hardened.
As always, spoon licking and eating of left over pecans is a great way to occupy yourself while you wait.
