There is something I always need to carry in my purse.
And, I am not talking about the usual suspects e.g. wallet, keys or phone (although this is also a lifesaver as I get lost, A LOT! How did people get anywhere before Google Maps??)
I am talking about a lil pack of nuts.
No jokes, this has saved my ass a load of times!
When you are out and about, and hunger strikes, it can be soooo easy to just grab the nearest food to keep you going.
Unfortunately, junk food is EVERYWHERE and good food options tend to be super limited. Hence, you will often end up eating something that you don’t really want to, just to shut your tummy up.
In other words, eating in reaction to hunger rather than choosing to eat something that will truly benefit you.
By carrying a portion of nuts, you will always have an awesome and satisfying snack to keep you going.
Nuts are literally the perfect snack when hunger strikes.
- They are full of protein, delicious fat and fibre so a small portion can easily satisfy you
- You need to chew them a lot so it actually feels like you have eaten something
- They don’t go off /get damaged being carried around in your bag, so you can keep them in there until needed
- They taste AWESOME
Cashews are my personal fave to carry, but any type are a good choice! Just ensure that you go plain and raw; processed nuts can taste great, BUT they often have a ton of extra ingredients e.g. low quality oils and way too much salt and sugar to make them suitable for an everyday snack.
Carrying a super portable snack like this enables me to go about my life as I want; I don’t need to worry about where to grab food BUT I can also ensure that everything I eat is purely on my terms as I am prepared to make good decisions about what I eat.
